State regulators allows Tamiflu to Medicaid children State health-care regulators are now allowing physicians to prescribe Tamiflu, a flu medication, to Lee County children on Medicaid without first having to obtain state approval. The state decision late Thursday came after reports of a widespread flu outbreak in Lee and the need to get treatment to Medicaid children as soon as possible. The state Agency for Healthcare Administration is telling Lee physicians they can receive approval to prescribe Tamiflu to needy children in one hour. Previously, prior authorization could take one day or longer in order to prescribe the medication and to follow the procedures for reimbursement. Source : http://www.naplesnews.com |
